ImageIQ Releases, an Online Quantitative Image Analysis Tool for Preclinical Research

CLEVELAND, June 15, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- ImageIQ, an innovative imaging software and contract research organization supporting the preclinical research and clinical trial markets, today announced the launch of (, an online quantitative image analysis service for preclinical research. Using secure cloud technology and the ease of e-commerce, provides validated and automated image analysis software tools for common preclinical imaging assays. As a result, all preclinical researchers will have access to accurate, reproducible, objective imaging analytics that are both affordable and easily accessible.

"The creation of was enabled by the convergence of three key elements," said Tim Kulbago, ImageIQ CEO. "First, a majority of preclinical research scientists have embraced the use of software to generate objective, quantitative data from their images. Secondly, image analysis algorithms have progressed to a level of sophistication that enables software to conduct accurate analysis. Lastly, the power and acceptance of cloud computing, scalable processing, and Internet bandwidth have provided the channel for this type of service," said Kulbago. "ImageIQ is very proud that will help advance preclinical science by providing objective, quantitative, and comprehensive data derived from a wide variety of images in a way that is accessible to all preclinical researchers." visitors are provided with free trial use for a limited number of images. has a fee-for-use model, lowering the cost of entry and delivering fast feedback on results of preclinical images. The service was beta-tested by seven international organizations, including The University of Miami, The Jackson Laboratory, Cleveland Clinic, Cook Medical/MED Institute and others. "We are encouraged by the reception of our beta partners, and that they see significant value for their organizations," said Kulbago. " has earned the trust of our early adopters as a valid and expert way to conduct preclinical image analysis."

Sam Beckerman, an M.D./Ph.D. Candidate in the Lemmon-Bixby Lab at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, and an active beta partner concurred. "One aspect of that I particularly appreciate is that images can be analyzed from anywhere. No need to be tied to an HCA (High-Content Analysis) machine," said Beckerman. "Additionally, researchers who may not have devices or software for conducting HCA in their labs can use these assays. It means a lot to know that scientists around the world have an opportunity to make advances in their research with tools we helped develop on That is really cool," Beckerman noted.

In creating, ImageIQ imaging experts and software developers have produced IQbots™, which are combinations of validated image processing and analysis algorithms and documentation packages for specific imaging assays. ImageIQ has also created an IQbot Incubation Program, which will grow the catalog of IQbots based upon market need and requests from preclinical researchers.

ImageIQ is demonstrating at the DIA 2015 Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C., June 14-18, Booth #1227. Visit
